industrial Uses of Natural Bentonite

Natural Bentonite, with high cation exchange capacity,

has high adsorbent and binding properties, and is USED as

•   Adsorbent: base lining sealant for dams, 
     stockpiles, slimes dams, tailing dumps, waste
     dumps and landfills by mines,

     civil engineering industry, power stations and
     municipalities

•   Adsorbent: treatment, neutralization and
     purification of

     waste water and acid mine drainage (AMD)
     by mines,

     municipalities water treatment plants, water
     authorities and

     affluent-generating industrial operations

•   Binder: stainless steel foundry moulds and
     low-sell ore fines

     pallets in stainless steel plants, and treatment
     in agriculture

industrial Uses of Activated Natural Bentonite

Activated natural bentonite,  produced from natural bentonite, has high binding, gelling and swelling (sealing) properties, and is USED as:

•   Binder:  foundry moulds for cast products and    
     grinding media in steelmaking

•   Binder: ore fines pelletizing by ferrochrome
     plants and steel mills

•   Gelling: drilling muds (vertical drilling and
     horizontal directional  drilling(HDD) in tunnel
     drilling, gas drilling and fracking

•   Sealant: Sealing off leachates in dams, dumps
     and landfills lining

Uses of clastic and shale clays

An inert clastic clay (an aluminum silicate compound) with rigid yet pliable, low-swell and no-shrink, low cation -exchange capacity, gelling
and ultra-high temperature resistance properties in mainly used in

•   Fillers and shock-wave plugs, ceramics and 
     earthenware, roof and floor tiles, and
     refractory bricks
